The River Park stretches along 18 kilometers of the river Lamone, in the municipality of Faenza.
The park suggests the modification of the current sutiation in searching for optimal solution to some actual problems: degradation from the running water and the presence in the river bad of illegal waste, the disappearance of the rural landscape, of woods and isolated plantations, the excessive invasion of specialized cultivation and private vegetable gardens, a new development of existing public parks and of the free areas adjacent to the river. The project, starting from the lastslopes of the foothills, passes through the historical center and ends in the valley, inserting itself into the rural fabric of the plain. A system of foot and cycle paths joins the town with the neighboring hills, reaching the “calanchi”, typical formations of clay hills.
The urban tracts foresee panoramic terraces, grassy amphitheatres for open-air theatre, steps, looped paths on both banks, new plantations of shrubs and trees, copses, themed parks and alluvial gardens.
